Thursday Co-Occurring Therapy Group 9:00 am to 10:00 am....Paula Adams, LISW, LADAC
Wednesday Recovery & Discovering Class 9:00 am to 12:00 pm...Diana Bauer, LADAC and Elise Martinez, BSW Student Intern with NMHU
The Recovery and Discovering Class is being offered as a service to those that would like to gain awareness about themselves or those that are being referred from a court or justice setting. In either case, all are welcome. In order to have consistency and productivity we ask that you participate in discussions. The class is not to teach you how to live your life, but to offer a better understanding and awareness about yourself and possibly others. We do understand that the class is being offered in large blocks of time, so breaks will be offered throughout the morning. The session or class is considered “open” and what this means is that individuals may start on any week (1-4). With participants starting on any week and graduating on any week, this begins a process of relationship building and implementation of skill building that is being offered. In order to build rapport each session starts out by a “getting to know you” activity and all participants will need to engage in. Arranging these dynamics creates trust with other participants. Also, rules and expectations will be discussed at the beginning of each group. Each week participants will utilize a self awareness activity in order to determine their personal style but also be able to engage with other group members to learn new and different skills. The group will offer educational material and handouts.
